Today marks the end of Egg Zachary Disease. And unlike the end of The Fledgling, the idea is not to be resurrected in another form any time soon.
The reasons for this are many. Among them are the following:
1) Nobody cares. Seriously, who gives a shit?
2) It's time-consuming. No matter how I approach it, for this to be worthwhile at all, it requires consistent output. That, of course, requires that I'm willing to spend hours a week spewing this stuff onto the Internet. And, not to sound arrogant, but I have better things to do. This leads me to...
3) Twitter is better. I can just write one or two sentences a day, and it pretty much accomplishes what this blog is at this point. In fact, it accomplishes more, because I can get whatever superficial, demented thought is floating around out of myself without feeling obliged to write more than 140 characters.
4) Mission accomplished. I began this simply so that people who wanted to know could know what I'm doing. People who need to know now have a good enough idea, and people who really care are people I talk to semi-regularly anyway.
5) The gunverment is going to get me. I'm sure you heard about the Homeland Security report calling me a terrorist. Just kidding. But really, do I need to risk it?
6) The ugh factor. Usually, when I go back to read anything I've written, it makes me go "ugh." It's even worse when it's on the Internet.
There are a few more reasons, but they are even less important than these ones. I will likely never blog like this again. If I ever return to the blogo-sphere (not to be confused with the former Illinois governor's giant cabeza, the Blagosphere), it will be less personal and more entertaining. Thanks for reading. And don't cry for me, Argentina. The truth is, well... Who knows what it is? That's my thought.

You'll be missed! I'm feeling bullied into joining Twitter.
It's sad when the first time I read a new blog it's the last. You write so well. Twitter?! Nooo, I just don't get it. That's what makes the world go around. We are all different. Maybe you will come back.
